Stuzzi Restaurant is in the process of applying for an amendment to its Special Use Permit (SUP) to add a small outdoor patio for to its dining service.
You can view the SUP amendment and the schematic drawings.
The plan calls for 7 tables and 24 seats to be placed in a patio in the Stuzzi parking lot that will require the loss of one of the eight existing parking spaces. Existing zoning with the proposed patio requries 22 parking spaces from Stuzzi and the businesses immediately around it. Currently, the provided parking exceeds the city’s requirement for private on site parking and provides 26 spaces.
Restrictions, if approved as written, on the use of the patio include: no music or amplified sound allowed on the patio, operating hours are limited to between 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., there will continue to be no delivery driving service, and the applicant is willing to terminate the right to have the patio if the restaurant changes management or ownership.
The MDA Zoning and Land Use Committee voted 3-1 not to oppose the application and will make that recommendation to the MDA Board. The landlord of the property approved the SUP being amended for their building.
City Planning Staff has reviewed the proposal and recommends approval with a few minor modifications and additional information requested. Once received, the final SUP Amendment will be drafted followed by a public notice period as well as public comment periods at both the Planning Commission as well as at City Council.
